The volume of house and commercial building is booming in Russia now and rebar traders and consumers are interested in cooperation with foreign suppliers. By the statistic analysis the volume of rebar import deliveries in 2007 (January - July) had increased by more than 70% to compare with the same period of 2006. Import steel products for construction engineering seems to be very competitive to domestic one in the future.
In fact Cement and steel products for constructing engineering have the very similar markets characteristics. Russian traders are very interested in purchasing cement from Turkey, Poland and other countries of Europe. By 2010 the deficit of cement and cement products on Russian market would be in amount of 10 mln.t. per year. And by our opinion this deficit will be growing further because of great volume of building and reconstruction projects especially during preparing to the Olympic Games in Sochi in 2014. All the forthcoming cement projects in Russia would not be able to cover the production/demand gap. For this matter the purchasing of cement from Turkey, Egypt, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Byelorussia could be more profitable and competitive because of law cost shipment routs.
